Our Purpose & Beliefs

Waters Edge is a new United Methodist congregation on Lady’s Island with a simple mission – “to know Christ and to make Christ known.”

We believe that it is our mission to change lives, transform the community, and renew the church. For us, that takes place through relationships…  relationships with God and the people and world around us.  We believe that our faith is demonstrated in our relationships and expressed through our actions.

We believe that real worship is what takes place when we leave church on Sunday mornings. For that to be true, our worship together should empower us to live faithfully, in good times and in tough times, so that we can do all we can, where ever we can.

Our hope is that Waters Edge is a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people become deeply committed Christians.
