What to Expect

 

Attire

Most people dress casually.  While on any given Sunday you will find the majority of the congregation dressed in casual clothing, others can always be found in dresses and ties.  Our goal is to have a worship environment where people can feel comfortable regardless of their attire.

 

 Arrival

Our Sunday morning programs take place in the gym area of Beaufort Academy.  Guest parking is available directly in front of the gym entrance, and is marked with signs.

Waters Edge utilizes the first side entrance to the gym as our main entry area, but any door can be used. Prior to the beginning of worship, greeters are stationed at the entrance to welcome and assist you.  Worship begins at 10:30 am, but we arrange our space to accommodate late arrivals with no fuss or embarrassment.  Greeters are also stationed at a welcome table to assist you once you enter the gym.  We encourage our members to wear name tags so that guests and others can use their names as everyone becomes acquainted. Coffee, water, and bagels are also available in the canteen area upon arrival.

 

Nursery

Our nursery is open for children (birth – age 3) by 9:30 am, and is managed by Waters Edge staff and a volunteer.  For safety, children are signed in and out of the nursery.  Please inform our nursery staff of any concerns or allergies.  All staff and volunteers undergo a national criminal background check before being approved to work or help with our children and youth.   Our children’s staff and volunteers wear picture name badges to help you identify them.  In addition to the badges, children’s staff workers wear orange polo shirts embroidered with the Waters Edge logo to help you identify them.

 

Children’s Worship

Mid-way through the Sunday worship service, children are invited to participate in their own worship experience. We have two Children’s Church programs, one for preschool and kindergarten, and one for children 1st through 6th grade.  Children’s Church is a great time for children to grow spiritually at their own level.

 

Worship

Waters Edge’s worship is a blend of contemporary and traditional elements.  Our music is lively, with a full band. Our preaching is scripture based and relevant to contemporary life. Services begin at 10:30 am and last for about 1 hour.  Previous sermons can be downloaded from the media page.
