Waters Edge is a church where you can find a home, a family, and a purpose. We are a diverse and welcoming community of faith that believes in the transforming power of God’s love and grace. Whether you are new to the area, looking for a fresh start, or searching for meaning and direction in life, we invite you to join us and experience the joy of belonging to God’s family.

Our church was founded in 2005, after the South Carolina Conference purchased a 10-acre tract of land on Ladys Island, to serve the blended community of retirees, military families and nonmilitary locals. We worship God with contemporary music and relevant messages that inspire us to grow in our faith and live out our calling. We disciple each other through small groups, classes, and mentoring relationships that help us deepen our connection with God and one another. We serve our neighbors and the world through various ministries and outreach that reflect God’s compassion and justice.

We are part of the United Methodist Church, a global denomination that traces its roots to the 18th century Methodist movement led by John Wesley. We share the United Methodist Church’s mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
